Exclamation HELP! Cannot tranfer Betta - too fast!!

Hello!

So this sounds retarded but I am trying to get my sick betta into a net or plastic baggie so I can transfer him to his hospital tank.

The little bugger is too fast!!! He zooms away from the net and keeps going around the bag.

Any tips??? OMG!

I chase with one hand into the receptacle I'm using which I place in his favorite hide hole.

It might be easier to use a clear cup (tubawear). How big of a tank is it in? And what illness does it have?

Hi! He is in a four gallon biorb which is a filtered tank. I think he might have a parasite and I'm trying to put him into the coppersafe dip and then into a hospital jar. But apparently he still has enough fight in him to evade me!!! ARGH!

That sure is frustating, not being able to get your fish out of its tank. Just keep trying and hopefully you will get him (took me 15 minutes to fish my old female swordtail out of my 10g one time).

Good luck with the treatment!

Well, I guess when it comes to fish you have to do what you have to do.

"Ahh! We fear the net!" - my fish

I know - I guess I care about the little bugger way too much. When I went into the fish store today to get his medication the guy told me, "Wouldn't it just be so much cheaper to just start over?". I was like, "Ummm- start what over?" "You know, just get a new Betta". I was sooooooooooooo mad!!! I will do anything for that little guy and it includes chasing him around his tank for 15 mins for his own good!

Hey! Yes finally - I decided to syphon out all the water in the 4 gallon so he had less room to run away from me. Then I scooped him up in his little clear cup I brought him home in. Dipped him in the Coppersafe solution and then deposited him in his 1 gallon hospital jar with some plants. This morning he seemed very perky, swimming around and exploring his temp home.

Now I am worried about having to get him out again today and dipping him back in the solution. Do you think I will stress him out too much by having to do that again today?
