Betta Food

Hello All,

I am new to these forums but not new to the keeping of bettas. I have had many bettas in my time, I don't breed, thought about it but to hard to place the extra fish in good homes.

I currently have 5 boys, my first two are my pride and joy 2 super deltas, 1 crowntail, 1 doubletail veiltail, 1 veiltail.

I feed a variety of pellet and frozen foods each day but I would like to know what brands you are all feeding these days??

I have just bought Atisons Betta Food, the blue one as the pro (pink one) is discontinued and hard to get. Is it me or are these pellets to big for the bettas to eat??

I find they are quite a size and the bettas have a hard time eating them.

Anyone try New Life Spectrum Betta Food and if so are these tiny pellets or the same size as the Atison's?

I don't know about size compared to other brands, but I feed NLS pellets to my bettas and they gobble them right up.

Thanks for that reply. We don't have them here so I would have to order them in and just wondering how big they are. I guess I will give them a try.

Thanks again

Me, i"m new to fish keeping so feed mine petsmart pellets. Well actually they are top fin color enhancing pellets....
I'm not cheap or anything, i just don't know much about fish
But my fishie also gets FD brine shrimp, frozen bloodworms and flakes along with his pellets.

But for my pellets i have to cut them up with a plastic spoon after soaking them before i feed him.

I feed New Life Sprectrum Growth Formula with 50% protein & 9% fat - the pellets are TINY and my "kids" just love them!! Have been feeding them since the beginning of August without any problems.

And, yes, I realize that NLS has a betta formula, but the protein is less than 40% so I decided not to go that route.
