Betta with a tumor?!

I'm a bit worried about Neon. He seemed a little bit relucnant to eat today and when I examined him there was a bump on one side of him sorta near where his tail is. It's NOT his stomach!!! Also his tail seems a little bit more spiky than usual (to me) I'll try to get pics as soon as I can. Could this bump be a tumor? And could he have fin rot? Please tell me how to cure BOTH (Well, actually, my dad knows how to cure fin rot soo yaaa...)

Here's a photo. I circled the tumor.

Some info: I just got him and the pet store actually took good care of its bettas, obviously daily waterchanges and such. HE's been acting... different lately Please help! I don't want my fish to die after only 2 weeks here.

Notice: his tail used to have a light spike to it now some of the spikes are flat /=

oh ya their stomach isn't located there and if u could shine a light on the other side of tank they are see through so i think u can tell if its a tumor

Um, ok?? I'm a bit puzzled by this statement...

Anywho, I can't really see what bump you're talking about in the picture, could you maybe try to get a picture of your betta from above, and maybe a close up of the side so we can see the bump better?

Edit: Actually, I can see the bump in your profile picture a bit! Maybe you can post your avatar picture here?

That's probably a slight outline of his swim bladder.
It's okay to see that on a betta.

And his fins look spiky?
It could just be his fins growing through.
VT's often have little "spikes" at the end parts of their fins.

Thanks! So relieved! Heres the photo Taylor asked for (just for a better view!)

Hmm, if he's acting fine I wouldn't worry about the bump. Even if it is a tumor I don't think there's much you can do but make sure he's happy. My fish has had a problem with weird bumps for a long time now, and he acts fine and is perfectly happy. I would just keep an eye on it, there's no need to worry until he acts like he feels bad.

It's probably nothing, so if he's still acting fine I wouldn't worry! :)
