Sleepy bettafish

My fish Riki, keeps sleeping on his plants.. this is the 2nd day i got him.. he sleeps on his plastic plants and makes bubble nest, like small ones slowly. He has a heater and is set to 78-80 degrees and eats normally like all other fishes. I was just wondering if this is normal for a bettafish to just sleep on a plant and swim occasionally for like 5minutes then sleeps again.. sometimes he doesn't do this and is active

by the way 3/4 of his tank has direct sunlight from about 2m away from the window and the rest is shade

These are the equipments

I have a 25w Heater with automatic temperature setter.

8L tank (2.5ish gallons) w lids.

Inside the tank is 1 big plant and 3 small ones so he can play and hide

water ager (I got a bucket outside and measured approx. 20L of water and pour 5mL of the water ager in so its safer that way then poured 8L into the tank)

Betta Bio-Gold pellet food (trustworthy as he eats it and my old bettafish loved it)

Questions
========
Is the temperature too high?
Is his activities normal for a bettafish?
Any other requirements I should be notified?

What are your water changes like? What water conditioner do you use?

Does he look sick, bloated, anything abnormal? It is possible that's just what he's like

im probably going to do a 50% water change every week.. and i use A.C.E (by aqua master) Ammonia Chlorine Eliminator.. he looks fine to me... not bloated or anything.. he swims fine, i guess im just worrying too much because my previous fish was active.

btw he likes to stay on the bottom now and just rest then sometimes he swims around

In a 2.5 gallon uncycled tank, you definately need to up your water changes to something like one 50% and one 100% a week. Apart from that though, your betta is probably fine.

i think that the fish just sounds like a lazybutt! :D especially if he makes bubblenests
