I highly suggest you do some research before you even consider breeding. It's not like breeding live bearers, there's a lot of work involved and you need to know what your doing.
For one thing you'd be mixing a CT with another tail type which is an undesirable cross that will most likely yield ugly fins in the F1, that will make it very hard to find homes for the fry. If your fish are from pet stores it will be hard to find homes for the fry.
IF you really want to breed I suggest forgetting about the male and female you have now and start doing serious research into breeding. In a few months once you know exactly what your doing then buy a nice pair and go from there.
