5 gal cycling question

You are awesome! Honestly I appreciate a bit of conversation about it 'cause I have no experience w/these things. How long has your tank been "in cycle?" I'm 3 days short of one month now.

I'm only 5 days in (though it feels much longer. LOL)

I'm hoping everything goes rather quickly because I added bacteria by way of Tetra SafeStart. It should help colonize my tank... I hope! XD I probably should've waited a while before I added it.

I spazzed and well... extreme lack of sleep this week hasn't help any! XD

I'm hoping that airating, increased heat, and TSS will get the cycling done before christmas break. :'D I kinda promised my parents it would be done by then.

I heard that piece-o-fish cycling normally only takes 1 or 2 weeks. Thus my promise. I feel bad for unintentionally lying to my parents now! XD

And don't worry about your experience level. :P I super goofed over the course of 5 months and well... it ended in a broken tank! XD So you're doing well so far! =]

I keep reading it's 4 to 6 weeks with the raw fish and I'm stickin' to that. My fear is that I will have to start all over... but que sera, sera. Or so I sing to Marty my betta in his small tank. I hope the stuff you are trying works for you. Patience is ACK!!! But seems to be key. The cycling process is kinda cool science.

Just want to report that the tank cycled! Last night I did a 50% water change and this morning the readings were all great... and so now my betta is in his new tank! *whew*

I'll post a photo when I have a chance.
