I'm not sure how much they'd help, all I know is that they sometimes eat that stuff to get more protein. It's probably better to skim it off with a cup daily.

Yeah I'll start doing that before AM feedings then...Once I condense the tanks down (tomorrows project yay!), a bubbler strip might be doable in the split 10's...I'm at 12 tanks (X 3 cords) now lol...I fear the electric company will think I've suddenly started growing wacky tobaccie with the power upswing.

Its usually organic materials that float up/fall down to the surface of the water. Usually noticeable when the water has little to no current. I get this stuff on my tank all the time. It doesnt seem to hurt my fish.

Same as w/ Alex. I get it, it's annoying, but it doesn't seem to bother the fish at all. Just me. It's still gross, though, lol. Sometimes it goes away, but it always comes back. Tanks that have a more solid top (like my 1 gallons) don't seem to get it as bad.

As a reply to an earlier post, you can buy an air pump that runs on batteries so it doesn't need to be plugged in. I've never gotten this "slime" And I use a bubbler, so maybe it'll help you.
