Random bubbles?

So two of my bettas make bubble nest...one makes big ones and one makes small ones (if my third betta is trying I probably can't tell cause the filter output is on his side). Well today when I came home there were small bubble nests but a ton of random single or double bubbles all over the surface. What would this be?

I have that too, I think that just happens when the top of the water is a little bit dirty and when he comes to breath he makes those random bubbles

Lol nice Tomsk!

Actually it's kinda a starter nest if you will. For example the guy in my avatar had a ton in his tank a few days ago but he now has a giant nest.

Yeah cause I just did a 50% water change so it's not dirty.

That's why. Water changes stimulate nest building behavior.

Totally normal, almost all of my females blew a few spare bubbles and I've had some males do it too.
