that is so beautiful! i'm going to walmart tomorrow to get sand, you've seriously inspired me! (good timing too, i think the cories i just impulse bought would appreciate it, lol)

I love your NPTs! <3 I really want to try one! <3 Would I absolutely need a filter for the first 3 months or could I go without one from the beginning?

(there are some tanks for sale RIGHT down the street... <3 REALLY cheap too! only the tanks though! XD)

You don't have to have a filter but it can help-I removed the filter already in this tank due to it being in the way-I had to modify the lights for plant growth reason...I get organics on the top but that tells me my soil is alive and doing its job...lol

As far a moving any tank that can be a challenge...with a NPT soil based I would remove all livestock and as much water as I could-drape the plants with wet paper towels or newspaper...move and once at the new location re-fill and let settle for an hour or so and make a water only change as needed for cloudy water and then good to go.....
