Looking for an Attractive Tank/How do I Uncloud my Water?

My tank is kind of boring. I've been looking for a nicer tank for my fishy since the day I got him, but it seems like every fancy tank is either 1/2 gallon or humongous. I want something around 3 gallons with a little more contemporary design. I love tanks like this:

But I can't bring myself to stuff Samuel in a tiny box just because it would be pretty.

But I need something with a lid so the cats don't drink out of it.
Any suggestions would be great. I'm looking for something under $100. I've got a Petsmart and a Petco in my area, Petsmart is closer and I really like the people working there. I will not go to any other pet store in my area, because while they are "local", all of them sell puppies from puppy mills and I will not give them money.

And is there any way to hide my heater? It's kind of awful looking, but my fishy will freeze without it. Do they have heaters that go under the gravel?

I'm also looking for suggestions to uncloud the water in this tank, it's something to do with our water, it's always done this, even if you were to pour it into a clean glass, it stays foggy. I used a "water clarifier" but it didn't do anything.

As for ugly heaters, while ugly, they do their job. I use silk or live plants in the tank, so a few are placed and clumped around so the heater is hidden

What sort of water conditioner do you use? Sometimes my water comes out cloudly when it's hot or just randomly, so I let it run cool for a little bit before getting the water into the bucket to be put in the tank. If it's coming from your faucets cloudy, you'll want to call your water company and ask, they might be able to fix it :)

Decorations! You can make a 5 gallon look amazing. Check out this video, and others to get ideas. I love the bamboo forest in this video. So pretty.

Those are my favorite tanks too! I wish the Marina betta kits were 2-2.5 gallons, that would make my day! :P

Have you checked out the Fluval Spec? It's what I would get if it wasn't so pricey for a 2 gallon! But I think it is cheaper than the Chi, I would check it out! :)

Ooh, I started looking more at the Fluvals and I found a really fancy enclosed tank that I like. It's 6 gallons, but I was kind of wanting to try some Dannios or something in there with him, so the size will work out. Is there anything special I should do introducing him to his new tank or just plop him in there like I did when I first got him?

also if you want elegant my sister made her tank really good with white gravel, white plants, and a white hidey-hole. Her betta's colors really popped out when you look at it.

In a 6 gallon, you can't put any other schooling fish in there. You could add some shrimp, snails, or african dwarf frogs though.

Also keep in mind to leave a gap between the top of the tank so he can breathe air. The enclosed Fluvals are really pretty, I'd love one if I had the money for it!

If you are talking about the Fluval Edge aquarium, it might not be appropriate for bettas. Keep in mind that the purpose of the tank is to fill the water up all the way so you have a glass box. That only allows the small hole at the top the area where your fish will get air. You can always drop the level of the water so it's not like they are trapped under ice with only a small hole to get their oxygen. However, it may cause problems with the filter making bigger water movements. You can get the Fluval Edge on sale for ~$100 at Petsmart. They are nice and I have one, but I wouldn't keep a betta in my tank.

I'm looking to get a tank for my betta too. I've been eyeing the finnex 4 gallon tanks. You can buy them on amazon and there are a couple of different accessories that come with each:

They have different light choices and filter choices. If you don't want the light they have the tank and filter only.
