A bit of help ....... please??

Hey all! :)

My Hm betta pablo who is my favourite little betta is acting a little strange.....
He is laying on the bottom of his tank in funny positions like head facing down... also he is not eating...

Housing

2 female bettas....... (i know but It can be done ... in a heavily planted tank...)

Aquarium tropical flakes and pellets.
How often do you feed your betta fish?
Every other day.

Maintenance
How often do you perform a water change?
2 x a week.
What percentage of the water do you change when you perform a water change?
What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change?
Water conditioner

Symptoms and Treatment

Just added some aquarium salt.
Does your fish have any history of being ill?
No a bit of fin rot a one point...
How old is your fish (approximately)?
6 months old (bought it at 3 months from a breeder)

I would QT if you are going to treat-some plants can be sensitive to aquarium salt

QT him and start an Epsom salt 1tsp/gal treatment along with 100% daily water changes for 5-10 days and see if that won't perk him up.

I have now qt him in a cup floating in the tank. So I should treat himm with epson salt now aquarium salt?

I would use Epsom salt to treat instead of aquarium salt with the symptoms you posted-remember to attach the floating cup so it doesn't sink-also I would cover the cup with plastic veggie wrap or if the cup you are using has a lid that will work too-your goal is to keep the air above the water warm and humid for the labyrinth...since you don't really know what is going on with him...it is best to cover all bases....

Has he been spawning with the girls any or chasing a lot-I know in my mixed sex tanks my really young guys will wear themselves out until they figure out that all they have to do is wait on the girls and they will come to him....lol......
How do the girls look are they doing okay?

No he is very peaceful fish , not once has he spawned my females have tried to but he takes no interest in them. He does chase them if they get to close but this only happens once of twice a day,

Won't the veggie wrap trap the air out??

You can poke a hole in it, depending on the size of the container and the head space you usually don't need to because you will be opening it up a couple of times a day to check on him, feed and change the water...but you do want at least half to 1 inch head space from water line to top of container.
