Trout, my (rather big) little girl...

I lost Trout to Dropsy. I think she ate some fly or something when it fell in her tank. At first I thought it was Swim Bladder Disease but then she started pine coning I looked on the internet and found out it was Dropsy. I tried everything to treat her for about a month with no progress, in fact she got worse and worse...She was my first and only fish I ever euthanized. I think it was the right thing to do.You could tell it hurt her to move, she would lay on the bottom of the tank day and night. When I would clean her tank she tried to swim away and ended up just sliding across the gravel...
My dear Trout, I am glad at least that you are no longer suffering.

It was so weird to have her alive and then all I did was basically drop her in a cup and with one gasp she was gone...I used the pre-frozen water method, it seemed the most humane and quick to me.
