Filters That Are Quiet?

So, 'nother thing to put on my "Want List", but I need a quieter filter for Lucky's 5 gallon. Does anyone know a filter that creates almost no sound? His current one sounds like a stream just formed next to my bed. o.o

Thanks!

Well, I know this doesn't really help BUT the filter that comes with my Marineland hex is almost silent!

I know what you mean though. In my 10 gallon I had an Elite Hush 10, which wasn't TOO noisy (it made a slight purring sound but eventually I got used to it), but the sound of trickling water drove me crazy! Ergg...so the Elite Hush isn't too bad as long as you keep the water levels up.

One to avoid is the tetra filters. I had one and the air pump always made noise.

Does anyone think that filters may hurt the bettas ear? I don't know, my dad suggested it and it made me think. I'm also looking for a filter and I don't know if I should get one if it would bother him.

I loooove the sound of the filter. the little trickle of water and the little vibrating noise. it's peaceful. I have to have mine on such a low setting though or Ickis gets really scared... so I dont get to enjoy the filter like I like to.

I buy the Tetra submersible filters, You never hear a peep outta them.

I have about 30 or so of them running here and it's totally silent.

I can't stand the noise and racket some of those other filters cause.

That seems to be the one. I don't mind a hum, infact, I lov hums. (Helps me fall asleep since I have some sleeping troubles) But I hate th trickling water sound when it's real loud. When it's quiet, I don't mind, it's just when it's loud. I am going to Google it now.

Thanks!

I have Aqueon power filters in both my tanks. The filters themselves make virtually no noise, and as long as the water levels are up, there's no trickling either.

I have tried two of those. The first one was noisy as heck and the second one leaked by the motor. I was VERY disappointed after all the good things I have heard about them!!!
