ok I know I am a newb at owning a betta but have anyone ever wanted to check out youtube and marvel at the different beautiful bettas that the owners posted? Well that was what I was hoping for but instead I got kids putting 2 males in a bathtub, some people had barely enough water to cover their fish in a little cup, people WANTING their males to fight, and other horrific images. Other new owners may see these videos and think it is okay to perform these deadly acts and follow in their footsteps. I just hope they have enough sense in their brain and realize they are not "just fish", but a beautful living creature as they once was. It is a sad day in YouTube land!
Awww... *hugs* I know what you mean, I am so sick of these sad videos that I've quit watching betta videos on youtube... I only look at ones of people showing off their nice tanks...
You can always send YouTube an e-mail requesting they remove these videos since they depict animal cruelty and activities illegal in the US (Last I checked any form of animal fighting was prohibited, regardless of being a dog, chicken or fish). Also give them a list of tags so they can easily find the videos like "Betta+Fight".
Flag every video you find as well as sending an email to youtube Mods saying that this is depicting animal abuse. If you don't do anything the videos will continue to stay up where people can view them.
