Bubble bars

I've read that bettas don't need or want bubbles in their home, bc of their origin. However a friend of mine told me that it would be better to have an air stone in the tank. My fish just kinda gets thrown around by it when he goes near it so I'm not sure if he's actually enjoying it. If it is a good idea, what would be the best bar to purchase? I was considering one of these two options:

Unless you have some other sort of fish in you tank that does not possess a labyrinth organ, you really don't need an air stone or bubbler.. most other fish breath dissolved oxygen from the water, but bettas will just go to the surface for a gulp of air when they need it. (: Don't worry about buying one.

Thanks so much. I only have a snail in there atm, and was considering cories. I'm not sure if they would benefit from an air stone though.

Cory cats also have a labyrinth organ, so no worries. (: Snails are amphibious, so as long as you leave them some space at the top of the tank, they'll climb up to get air.

Very good to hear lol. I have a feeling my betta will be happy now that I'm removing it.

My betta has a bubble (stone, not bar- theyre too strong for him) and I think he really enjoys it. Its not for oxygen use in my case, he was just getting bored and needed something to keep him occupied so he wouldnt nom his tail :3 I got two for two dollars at Walmart and they hook up via tubing through an airator.
Its cute when its weak, my betta drifts through it, eats the bubbles (he's an idiot) and gets mad when its off.
