Talking Got a viewable picture of my new rescued Betta

For those who don't know, my new Betta was saved last night from my sisters bad care. Please note the bowl he's isn't his home, it just has no water stains + he was in there for a water change (doing them daily until he gets better.) His turquoise is already starting to show up! How does the name Velvet sound? I haven't decided yet, but his velvety turqoise/black just screams Velvet!

This was the only good pic I got. His turqoise tends to show up more in direct light, like a flahlight. He's definatly a tough guy, I put in a bubbler and he attacked the bubbles like crazy!

Another note: you can kind of see a bloated belly in this picture, but that's because he was overfed in my sisters care. I'm fasting him, his bloat has actually gone down.

SO pretty :) My new fish looks similar but it's a CT. I still don't know what to name him.

I don't like his golden sheen that much because I don't think it matches his other colors, but hopefully as he gets better he'll turn more turqoise. It's no big deal if the gold always shows up. He's like my new little mutt because his colors are all in random patches and he has so many (=

Lol thanks! (200th post W00t =D!) He gained a lot of color really fast, he was almost pure black when he was in my sisters room last night, now his blue and red and gold is showing up. I just added clean water and he went from swimming around in his tank slowely to bursting around chasing his reflection! I wish I had rescued him sooner. He has so much personality!

I officially named him Velvet BTW =D

If any one sees any health problems on him (other than his fin rot D=) Please tell me!! He probably developed quite a few before...

Awwe, I like the gold. Especially with the darker green.

I can't believe how quickly these guys can change color- I snatched another CT from Wallyworlds clutches yesterday at about 4 PM, brought him home and in 14 hours he's changed from light violet and mauve to latte brown with splashes of red. Holy moley!

Once he colors up and unclamps his fins, he's going to be so pretty :)

Though, O_o when you say gold, do you mean like a bunch of gold colored dust on his scales? If so, that might be velvet- as in the illness, not his name...

It's not Velvet I've already verified this ;) It's just his natural coloring, his tail has a slightly golden sheen.
