doe blackout effects your heater?

i just bought a new 100 watt heater.
unfortunately there has been a blackout around my neighborhood 3 days ago.
and i think my preset heater broke. the green light is on but the water is like 68/72.

anyone had this problem?

If there was a power surge it cold have fried the thermostat in the heater.

A blackout should have no more effect on a heater than unplugging it but if the blackout was accompanied by a surge and you don't use a surge protector then it would almost deffinitely damage the heater.
