Yesterday I noticed my betta's swim bladder was quite visible; It's a little tricky to explain but I will have pictures at the end of my post. I'm not sure if the swim bladder is supposed to look like that or not (maybe it's just his colouring that shows it but I've never noticed it before).
Lets get down to business~
What size is your tank? 2.5 gallon
What temperature is your tank? 78 degrees
Does your tank have a filter? No
Does your tank have an air stone or other type of aeration? No
Is your tank heated? Yes
What tank mates does your betta fish live with? None
What type of food do you feed your betta fish? Hikari Betta Bio-Gold Pellets
How often do you feed your betta fish? 4 pellets everyday
How often do you perform a water change? Twice a week
What percentage of the water do you change when you perform a water change? one 100% and one 50%
What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change? Tap water conditioner (Nutrafin Aqua Plus). Occasionally I will add aquarium salt as well.
Have you tested your water? If so, what are the following parameters?
Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? Swim bladder looks inflated (I will post pictures)
How has your betta fish's behavior changed? Behavior hasn't changed. Swimming, eating, and poopin' normally.
When did you start noticing the symptoms? Yesterday.
Have you started treating your fish? If so, how? Havn't started treatment
Does your fish have any history of being ill? Nope.
How old is your fish (approximately)? 10-12 months.
Picture time. Just a little note; Because of my fishes' colouring I could practically see and name the organs inside of him when I had the light over him to get good pictures heh.
I couldn't get a clear shot over him but his sides do bump out where it is showing. Something like this:
\ / <-- Head
| | <-- Body
( ) <-- Bump
\/ <-- End of body
*Edit* Here's an older picture of him for comparison.
Thank you for your time.
