Cotton Ball Things Still There...

Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? He has these litle white round things at the end of his rays.
How has your betta fish's behavior changed? He's still active and feisty
When did you start noticing the symptoms? About a week ago
Have you started treating your fish? If so, how? I did Aquarium salt for six days
Does your fish have any history of being ill? I brought him home pretty sick.

Ok, so, brought Patrick home, he was pretty sick, so I did epsom salt for ten days with water changes every other day....then on the last day of his epsom treatment, I noticed these ball like things at the ends of his rays that sometimes fall off if he swims hard enough. So I did aquarium salt for six days, water changes every other day. They went away for like two days, then have come back and they seem to be a bit bigger then before. There only on his rays, mostly his anal fin, smaller one's on his caudal but I do not see them on his body or his dorsal fin. He's active and eating and his behavior is completely fine.

Anyone? I checked this morning and it looks like one of his rays are rotting off, and the cotton balls things are still clinging there at the end of his rays.

My CT female got those cotton ball things. I think CT's are prone to getting them. My female's fell off a day after I changed the water. I think it may be a sign of poor water quality, as my 10 gallon had to get a water change held off for a couple of days.

Really? Huh. I have another crowntail whose in the same water and conditioner, for two months now, and I haven't seen this on him, though Patrick was in gross water when I got him, but this showed up almost two weeks after...is there anyway to treat it?

I'm sure you cold treat it, but I don't know how. I just give them extra clean water and they go away. Both my female CT's have had them, and in one case they dissapeared within an hour or two.

Ive tried clean water and salt, colder and warmer water, and it just keeps getting worse regardless what I do.

Try moving them around. When my females had it, they lost it after being netted. Try 100% new water also. I think the change may kill it.
