I noticed a white fuzzy ball resembling a pom pom on the tip of the back fin on my betta this morning. It was NOT there last night. So, When I got home from school today I drove to Petco with my betta and talked the the knowledgable manager, Joey, about it. He looked at him for a minute, rinsed off a net, plucked him up, held him in his hand for a good minute spreading out the tail (did not wash his hands

) and took a pair of scissors (did not wahs the scissors) and cut off the tip of his tail. Then, he put him back into his jar I took him in. George swam around his 1 gal jar like nothing even happened! Joey explained it was a parasite, and the cycle and how it got there, and such. I thanked him and left! I did not buy any meds. I wish I could go back and get some, but it's closed in 10 minutes. Lol.
I do love joey and the way he takes care and helps me. He actually knows about bettas and such. BUT- I do wish that he had washed his hands!!!
