10g filter to much?

I have a 2 1/2 tank, and my tetra 1 to 3 gallon filter didnt seem to be doing the job,
So I picked up a unused filter. and tryed it.
ATM it is just cycling, but wanted to see if it was O.K
EDIT: it is baffled

There's never such a thing as "too much filtration". Most people recommend using bigger filters. I think it will be fine.

I don't think it will stress him since it's baffled. I could be wrong, though. Might want to wait until someone a bit more experienced answers.

Try it for a while, and if he seems more stressed than usual, take it out. But I have a feeling he'll be just fine.

Too strong a filter in a small tank can sometimes cause fin problems- shredding type issue for the long and heavy fin Bettas even when baffled...so watch for that.....
