I've never gotten the fish water in my mouth although my friend did when she was helping me clean the tank.

I just got this http://www.amazon.com/Aquarium-Maint...2223125&sr=8-9 and so far it is pretty awesome. I have no problem with lack of suction.

i have no problem sucking on the end. i just cover it with the top of my shirt even though its not a big deal to me, im kinda a germ-aphobe

If the tube is filled with water from the sink or the tank, gravity makes the suction work regardless of the size of tank. An alternative method is you can place one end of the tube over a bathtub and one end at the sink outflow and get the tube filled also. Place your thumb over the output once the tube is filled(flowing out the outher end) and place the input tube in the tank higher than the output tube. Water will begin to drain from the tank.

does your petsmart retail store have this good combo? (10gal aqueon aquarium, quite flow 10 filter, and incansedent hood for 20 bucks with pet perks card.

I've never had a problem starting a vacuum with the agitation method. I don't see how hard it is lol.
