Fish and Cat

So I love my betta. I also love my cat. The past few days I've come home and have caught my cat just laying on top of my fish tank. It was originally a lizard tank so the top isn't a hood it's wire. Elvis doesn't seem to be bothering Napoleon. He probably just wants to stay up high and in the sunshine. So do you guys think that I should just put a sturdy board on top of the wire so that he can lay there. I would try to keep him out of my room but he knows how to open the door. So any ideas? I considered putting a laundry basket over the tank. It'd be easier if I put some plastic on top just so he doesn't fall through but do you think the sides of the tank would hold the board and the cat?

A board should be good. My cats use to try this with my rickety old screen. They would of had a shock when the fell into the water.

Thats pretty funny. Seems cats always pick the one place to sleep that you dont want them too. I think a board would be fine too.

I think it should be okay if you put a board on top of the tank, but be sure to leave some room for air to get through so your betta can breathe.

The water level is about two inches below the screen. Is that enough air for him.

The only thing I'd be worried about is the cat hair getting into the tank xD two inches below the top is fine :)
