Talking Got My Betta roday

Hi guys,
I am proud to say I got my betta today. I'll have a picture soon but for now I'll just let him get used to his new home.
I have done a lot of reading on this site about how to care for a betta and it has been very helpful.
I just got everything set up as far as conditioning and testing, and then got him in his new tank. Its a 5 gallon. Submersible heater set at 78*. Filtered but it is blocked with an aquarium sponge (a method i read on here) to slow the flow. Got some pebbles and a hiding place for him.
It's a little bare for now, but eventually I want to get some live plants growing inside, but I will have to read up on that first to see what is recommended for beginners.
Just a starter setup for now but I think eventually I will get some nicer products. I look forward to being a part of the community, so any advice you may have for beginners would be appreciated!
