Play an instrument?

I just had a concert for the cello. In this concert I was a back up soloist and just my luck this dude didnt show up so i got to unexpectedly play my first solo on the instrument I'm not terrible good at yet. lol

i've played violin for 5 years.
cello for 3 months :p
piano (kinda) for 4 years
would like to learn guitar :]

Just wanted to make a thread for instrument players to come and talk :D so what instrument do you play or would like to learn? how long have you been playing? got any tips for anyone else on said instrument?

That's cool that you got to do your first solo. I don't play an instrument but I sing solos at my church.

Hm. I've played the trombone for about 8 years. Elementary school band, Middle school band, Jazz band, High school Marching Band (4 years), High school Varsity Wind Ensemble (3 years)... and was in a ska band for about a week... didn't have any time to practice... lol I haven't played much since graduation however...

I also play guitar. Been playing for 6 years. Oddly enough I'm a lefty, but I play right handed. Started out with acoustic like most, then moved on to my squier strat... which I sold after a while... lol... I currently play a Schecter Diamond Series C1 Plus. It's awesome. I've been in two bands as the guitarist over the years.. First of which was a rockish/punkish band called Nxile... We were a literal garage band. We rocked it on 48th street with our practice amps. Never got to play a show. I'm currently in another band as the rhythm guitarist in As Empires Burn, a melodic metalcore band. We play shows regularly around the state. In fact we have one at a local bar tomorrow night! If you wanna know more about my band AEB, feel free to PM me. </shameless plug>

And I screw around on the piano/synth occasionally. :)

i used to play violin lol. started with 7 i think, stopped with 14. but its funny that now, today, i cant play at all anymore!!! its all gone.... whereas my mum played piano after 20 years and can still do it fairly well...
i miss my violin playing though....

right now i sng alot though. its not really, technically an instrument though.... i think lol. im a mezzo soprano, i love singing arias.

I play piano and violin, but I am very out of practice. I used to play 1st violin in my school's orchestra and at my church.

I count Voice as an instrument! I sing soprano in my church choir.

I sing. Loud and often. I was also a soprano in the chorus for 8 years when I was in school and I even got to do a few solos. My voice is not what it was then. LOL. My husband plays bass, keyboard and acoustic guitar.

Hehehehe. I played Viola in 5th and 6th grade. =]
I played bass guitar for a few years, got bored.
picked up an acoustic guitar, and I dont have the patience.

my boyfriend has been playing guitar for a long time, and he plays very well. so my little guitar gets some loving still. lol!

I tried piano for a while...and I wanted to try guitar, but my parents wouldn't let me...but I play my vocal cords!! xD We have an excellent choir system in my school. I'm a Soprano 1. :)
