Exclamation Question on Female betta's

when you put them together is it normal for 1 of them to act like she the boss I put 2 of them in a 10 gal tank I do have other female going in also but I'm getting her back to health she the biggest of the 3 the 2nd biggest one once in awhile chase the little one away sometime nip at her is that normal? should I take the 2nd one out or let it be.

Tks a bunch.

I would take them both out and float them in 2 different cups until you have the other female because with 2 females one will always try to be superiour over one another and one will most likely get killed. Also I would buy another female because 4 is the bare minimum. having 4 females levels out the agsression.

What weluvbettas said. =] 4 is the minimum. You don't want any less than 4 in the tank at the same time unless they're floated in separate containers. =]

And yes there will always be a dominant female. in fact when you have all 4 together there will be some fighting at first to establish the pecking order then after a few hours things should settle down. If they don't you might have to remove a particularly aggressive female and find one that's less aggressive.

Good luck with your sorority and keep us updated! =]

You will need to take the most aggressive female out for a day or so..So the others can become more confident. Because they can and will kill eachother if they arent introduced properly..and if she is still picking fights then she probably isnt suited for the sorority life
