No Algea Cheat

Alright so I've read up a bit on Marimo balls they say if you have them in your tank that they out compete any algea in the tank. I dont want to use any algea drops in a spawning tank and I would like to find a way to prevent any blooms so my fry wont dye. I dont have any fry right now Im just getting my game plan set up. So does anybody have or know someone who has used these in normal tanks or spawning?

You could, and you could also use excal. Using excal and marimo balls, however will kill the marimos so take your pick ;)
