I love rodents too, trust me. I had a pet mouse named spidergirl(Long story) and Nathan raised a family of gerbils XD; we want a pet rat actually... I know, it's ridiculous. It's hard to love both the prey and the predator! ;^;

I know! If (when...fingers crossed ) I ever get a snake, there's no way I can buy them live food. *shudders* I've had rabbits and hamsters as pets before. I'd just end up with a lot of mice as pets. :P Luckily, all the sites I've researched at say that live food is a bad idea, since it can hurt your snake and it's so expensive.

Oh yeah! Life food is dangerous.. Our maru(ball python) is wild caught, so when she came to us she had some scars from her food. Bleh.

Yup yup! Frozen thawed all the way! And if you do get a snake I would suggest not having a ball python as your first..they are often far too picky and fast and scare new owners! Get a corn snake!

Time for me to jump in! Cornsnakes, African House Snakes, Milksnakes, and Kingsnakes are generally accepted as the best starter snakes (; Kings can be a bit bitey though, and Milksnakes a bit flighty. I adore my Housie, and totally suggest them. Good eaters, too. They're not as colorful as Corns, though, so if you're looking for a pretty snake they're a good choice. Kingsnakes can be diurnal so they're good show-offy snakes. Milks are just gorgeous, especially the milk/cornsnake hybrids.

The other thing with milks and kings is they like to MUSK! Stinky! That's why I generally suggest cornsnakes as the best starter snakes(though ball pythons are great first time for handling if someone is afraid of the snake.. Just cause they are so still generally!)

corns are cheap too, even morphs! And great eaters!

Yep, corns are the way to go for a beginner like me. I won't be getting a snake for quite a while though. Thanks for the advice, guys. :)
