Mom's fish died. Now what?

Long story short my mom's betta died from unknown causes, he showed no signs of disease. Is there anything I should do to the aquarium before putting in another fish? The tank is a 5g Marineland Eclipse, it's currently cycled. Do I have to empty it and clean everything? Or will a partial water change do? He was only in there for a few hours after he died I think.

I personally would go ahead and clean the whole thing just to be safe.
