Eye color spawn

Here are the parents. The male has interesting eyes shaped like a cartoon character. The female has burgandy eye pupils shaped very much like a reptile's eyes with a slit in the middle that glows red.

This is an uncle and niece I have raised myself. Yes, both carry metallic. I expect mostly females due to the male being older, but who knows? The female is huge for her age.

Thanks!

I am already seeing some doubletail fry at about 1 week old that show very unique eyes. I can see the fry better with a magnifying glass at this stage.

I started thinking about this post today! Here's the story behind why lol... I was doing a water change on the sorority tank and every time I do a water change I carefully observe each betta to look for signs of illness. When examining Mei (your turquoise marble) I noticed she now has these stunning baby blue eyes! It looks amazing against her dark head. :D BTW, her fins have healed up wonderfully in only a week, and I'm starting to condition the pair again for the second attempt around late Jan!

Her hm grandfather had amazing blue eyes. One of his sons had one blue eye and one red eye, which I think is quite beautiful in a fish.

Here is a picture of a few fry from last week at about 1 week old. These fry are growing at twice the rate of another spawn the same age. It should take a few months to get accurate pictures of the eye color as it develops. I already see an awesome red eyed doubletail already that is too fast and small to photograph. I doubt I will offer any of this spawn for sale. I might just keep them all!
