Aging?

I've had my male vt for two and a half years now. In the past month or so, I've realized he's been changing colour a little bit. He's always had a brown head, royal blue body with blue and purple. Recently though, his whole body is starting to turn brown, while his fins stay the same colour.

Nothing has changed in his housing conditions, diet, or activity level. I was just wondering if the colour change is a product of his aging? Any other ideas?

Aww, my little man! Any idea what age that indicates him to be? Or how long I might have with him?

He was my first fish and managed to survive a lot of new-fish-owner crap heh. I'm very attached to him :)
