Possible sorority!

Hopefully my mom will let me set up a sorority in our living room. I haven't had a sorority in almost two years! I know how everything works and how nasty it can get...trust me since I had that sorority I've seen nasty things from my breeders.

My plans:
A 10 gallon (duh!)
Heavily planted with Java Moss and Java Fern and possibly Duckweed (the stuff is prolific so I've heard)
Tons of different caves
NO heavy filtration...just a couple of sponge filters.

I'm not sure if I'll breed my own girls or buy some. I might just buy some...not sure how many yet but I'm thinking 6.

Maybe you should do 5. I've read somewhere that odd numbers are best because than the females can establish an alpha female. Can't wait to hear updates on the sorority!

I heard shooling fish need odd numbers but I don't think bettas are like that. Either way I'm excited!

Im excited for you! My inspiration was seeing several spawning tanks after the fry were about 2 months. All those pretty hues and cute faces.

Sorority tanks are fun. Hope it works out!. Water sprite is also a nice floating plant to add. I use a baffled powerfilter in my sorority tanks, but I guess a sponge filter would work, too.

Sounds fun!! Got to love sorority girls! haha. And I usually have 6 females in my sorority tanks. But I have one that only has 3 females...I guess they just love each other. They never flare (that I can see) and none have had problems with ripped fins.. Im blessed! :]

Good luck! Make sure to get tall items to block their view of the other females. My females love anacharis. They lay on top of it, each picking their own spot to relax!
