I'm about to burst with sorority excitment!!!!

Today I got a check in the mail (We open our Chistmas cards before Christmas ) So now I have $45. I figure I'll probably get around $50, maybe even more, on Christmas, so than I'll have $95. Than a few days later I'll get an allowance and have $120. Well, if my parents get me that 10 gallon tank like I suspect they are going to, I'll have lots of sorority funds! And if they don't, and 10 gallon kit only costs $45 around here, so I'll still have plenty of sorority funds! So, that means that my first steps towards getting a sorority (Getting tank and some tank supplies) will be this week!!!!!

I only just thought of it like this, now I think I can't handle waiting this week out. I'm seriously about to explode. I've been doing lots of research on sororities, and decided the magic number of females for me will be 5. I'll have low light easy to take care of live plants, some driftwood with marimo balls growing on it, and of course lots of hidey holes. I know one place that sells females that already live together, but unfortunatly they usually have too few. So, I'm planning on stopping by there and picking up my females when I first get my cycle started, so that way if they don't have enough females at that point I can get some more at the end of my cycle.

Now I just want to talk about sororities all day long... hurrah for Christmas and the tanks it brings! Once I get my tank I'll start a sorority/cycling log, so I can get my need to talk about my tanks out ! I think I need to calm down and stop freaking out over sororities... but I'm too excited!

I wish you good luck with your future sorority tank. Female bettas have so much personality. I recently added a group of female bettas to a former cherry shrimp tank that was getting a bid overcrowded with shrimp. I moved most of the shrimp to another tank.

Thanks everyone! Just one question though... do females have less energy than males? In fish stores where males and females are sold in cups, the males still swim around, but the females just sit there. I'm still getting a sorority no matter what, but I'm just wondering.

IMO/E ,they're just as active if not more active then the males. Trying to judge how active a betta will be when she's in a filthy cup isn't going to work

Ah okay thanks! Lol my dad was looking at the female Bettas and one was swimming around not flaring and my dad pointed at her tail and said "Woah! That little tail is so cool!" Lol. Something tells me he'll enjoy this sorority, but not me bugging him about it.

Lol I'm going to be sooo broke after this! Especially if I don't get that tank for Christmas... Bills:

Tank: $45
Plants and plant stuff: $60
Ornaments and hidey holes: $30-$40
Female Bettas: $15
Gravel and backup kritter keepers for emergencys: $30
Water testing kit: $20

Soz... If I don't get the tank it might cost $200 0.0

But if I do get the tank for Christmas the cost goes from $190 to $145 I hope I get the tank and a few supplies... And If I don't get any money for Christmas by January 1st I'll have only $70. I'm doomed!!!!!! D= I hope I get some supplies, tank, and money for Christmas!!! I just have to get lucky.
