I got a beautiful little Crowntail at PetSmart today. He was $2, because they were having a sale. I don't have pictures because I want to let him settle in first, but I will take some later. He's a gorgeous guy. He has teal fins, a blue body, and a dark blue head. He has ruby ventral fins as well. He seems pleased with his new home. He's already designated one of the plants as his resting spot. I'm so excited to have him!
Ok, good. I'm going to be getting my 10 gallon in a couple days (just the tank, not the heater yet), and I'm going to put him in that. I have him in a small, under 2 gallons container right now, but he won't be there for long. It's hard to see him in it (it's a sterilite). I can't wait to have him in something else... lol.
I just realized he has an injured pectoral fin... poor baby. It's not fin rot, because it's not brown, just torn a bit off. I told my mom to buy some aquarium salt at walmart... I'm not just going to return him. Poor baby. I don't have a heater, so I don't have any warmth to help his recovery. Man, I feel bad. He's having trouble swimming. At least he has plenty of resting spots.
