A raccoon ate him! D:

So as some you may know, I had to euthanize my betta, Caesar. After which I froze him in a baggy planning to dispose of the body later. Well, last night I wrapped the baggy containing him in wads of paper towel and disposed of it in the outside garbage. This morning I look out the window and the garbage has been torn into! So I go outside to see the damage and I notice the baggy on the driveway with no Caesar in it :c
I didn't want to flush him because I didn't want a disease he might have been carrying into the water stream, but now.....UGH!
I'm not pleased.

So if you have raccoons that'll get into your garbage every now and then, what do you do in situations like these?

Not so bad a fate really- back into the natural ecological food chain for recycling.

I agree with Feral.

Your betta wasn't alive when this happened, so he couldn't feel any pain..plus, if you want to think about it, if the raccoon was a mother, using Caesar for nourishment allows her to feed her babies? I mean, it's more comforting of a thought if you actually like raccoons and think their babies are cute...but if you don't, then it's better than Caesar ending up in the dump. =) He's in a better place now anyway.

Not to make a joke out of a serious situation, but did anyone else think of the Lion King when Rain Drop mentioned "Circle of Life"?

It's understandable to be shocked, though. He was a family member and losing family is tough. I'm sorry for your loss

...Try not to visualize bad stuff anymore! Remember, he's in a better place.

well atleast if the betta had a disease, instead of polluting your water, maybe the coon got it and it wont be back to tear apart your garbage :)
