maybe he's too shy or not accustom to too much "attention". What you can try is to put his tank in a corner of your house where there are some movement (ie family members walking by etc) a few hours everyday, to make him less shy. you can also reward him by feeding him from time to time if he's no longer shy to human interaction.

@Brandon: thanks...but...its kinda hard to move him around so much with two cords (filter and tanklight) and a six year old brother. He DOES see quite a bit of movement...he's in view of my door, which is right next to our bathroom and my parents room, so there's plenty of movement...plus Im in and out of my room all day long. I figure I'll just keep interacting with him a little bit here and there and hope he'll start to warm up
