Hanging thermometers D:<

Stoopid thermometer... giving Schnappi sores... anyway, I had one in his tank for a while, and that's what happened. I suspect he scraped his side from trying to get in between the glass and it :P And I know that the thermometer caused it, because it's the only thing in his tank sharp enough (unless he somehow managed to rub against the gravel really hard, and I doubt that).

...Hanging? Do you mean the ones that you suction cup to the glass? I use the ones you stick on the outside of the tank, the strips, they work just as well and are more visually appealing. ;D

I mean the kind that has a bent section at the top, and you use that to hang it from the side of the tank. I know for a fact that Petco sells them, not sure if they do anywhere else. And I've heard the strip things aren't the best working, and sometimes get stuck at a certain temp.

I have a suction one on inside the tank, it has worked well so far.
I got it from petsmart, it's cylinder shaped with round ends, so there are no sharp parts on it.
You could get one of those!
:)

Yeah, those sound really nice :) Mine is evil and metal and now that I feel the edges, it feels like I use could use it as a makeshift weapon D: That is how sharp its edges are. I think I'll get one of the kind that have a sinking base and then float up. Those seem kinda cool.

Go digital - it's the BEST, IMO - AND you don't leave it in the tank!!!! :)

I have one from my lfs that magnets to the inside of the tank. The thermometer goes in the tank, and the magnet outside. Perfect!
