Cleaning a medicated and infected tank?

One of my bettas just died :( and I'm gonna move one of my boys into his old tank but since my last betta died of illness, and am not sure what exactly it was and I had to treat him in that tank I don't want the other one getting sick. How can I go about sanitizing it? I really don't want to buy new plants cause they are expensive :(
