When fin rot begins, what does it look like?

Can you post a picture or describe what it looks like?

Fin Rot usually looks like a black crusty fringe on the tail. Where the rot is the tail slowly disappears.

It's not really black on the edges but there are splits in his fins and they seem to be deteriorating at the very ends...Let me see if I can get a good picture.

He doesnt look to have finrot.. He could possibly just be a RoseTail type. Which have that type of tail look. But like I said. I dont see any signs of finrot.. But you can add in some aqua salt 1teaspoon/gallon to be safe. And you will need to keep up with the eater changes as well.

Hmmm...they said he was a delta when I got him. I've had him for about 6 months and I have just noticed just recently that his fins were fraying a bit, wanted more opinions though

I see. Well adding aqua salt and doing frequent water changes and housing him in 80-82 degree water will help with his fins.
