Well I havn't had him for long, but Its been 2 days inbetween changes of 25%

He was super active when I got him, flaring at the other males and even building bubble nest. He has seemed a bit more active sense the water change last night. But he is not eating?? I fast them on Sundays. I also feed each Betta 4-6 pellets a day, is that to much?

maybe he's bloated?

but my fish was like this starting a week ago and i put him on a 1 tsp/gallon espom salt treatment for a week (i rememoved him from his 5 gallon into a heated .5 g bowl for a couple days to treat him.) He was lying around, not eating, and was pale.

He is now back in his 5 g swimming around all happily, looking great :)

In a 5gal filtered tank split for 3 Betta-you need to increase your water changes to 50% 3 times a week at the very least....at this point with a new fish I would get him out and in QT until you know what is wrong...you don't want to infect your other two Bettas

In Qt I would go a head and a start a 10 day aquarium salt treatment along with 100% daily water changes-hold food for 2 days and offer again and see if he won't eat for you then.

He may just be tired and stressed from the move and flaring with other males...the stress can cause lowered immune response and poor appetite.

Keep us posted.....he may just need some more time and de-stressing...since he is new.....

I'm hoping its just the de-stressing, and being tired, I'll have to find a way to black out the males so they can calm down and not be flaring a lot. I will hold the food for 2 days, and do water changes more. Also I noticed he becomes more active when I turn the lights off, so that also makes me think stress.

Well, after keeping him alone sense Christmas, he did start eating. But he is having trouble swimming it seems. Could this be SBD? He just floats at the top, swims down from time to time then comes but up for a long time. He is not bloated it took him about 3-4 days before he would even attempt to eat or take interest in food. Where as he and the rest of my Bettas are constantly begging for more x.x 24/7. Any help on what may be causing the issue? I miss my active happy bubble nest building Mushu. So far I am treating him with epsom salt, keeping the lights out and keeping him is a "darker" spot by placing some decor around him.
