Hey everyone! I'm new to the betta fish community. I just got two. The pink one is named Champagne, the blue one is yet to be named. I honestly have absolutely no knowledge about anything Betta-related, but I'd like to learn! Can anyone whose experienced please tell me, by the photos, if they seem healthy? I assumed that they are both male because of their tails, but what kind of bettas are they? About how old do they look? I admit that their tanks are a bit small (1 gallon :S) but i plan on upgrading as soon as I get some more cash (5 gallon divided tank, maybe?) Well anywho, let me know what you guys think!

Welcome! The first thing you need to know about these fish is that they need a larger tank. From the pictures, it seems pretty small. You should get them 2.5 gallon tanks at least. You can get a 3 gallon Pet Keeper at Petco for $12.99. Also, Betta are tropical fish, and need temps of around 78*, so you will need to get heaters for them. Also, only feed them around 4-6 pellets a day, or they will get bloated. Hope this helps!
I especially like the blue guy, he's just smashing. They do both look healthy to me! And the five gallon divided is a good idea. I've got my guy in a five gallon undivided and he loves it, but I've heard five gallon divideds are fine too.
Hey again. Yea, I'll go and get them bigger tanks this week. I don't think i really need a heater, because I live in the tropics so it doesn't get too cold here regardless, and the house is a nice, warm temp. do you think i need one regardless? thanks for all the info!
