Bubble nest...ON THE GROUND!?!?!?!?

Hi.

Just your slightly weathered betta friend here. Slightly weathered as in, keeping my betta, Tony, for over 6 months (plus all the stuff I have learned on here!). I did not expect anything new...but something happened...

Yesterday, when I was going to bed, I said goodnight to Tony and then realized that he had 100's of tiny bubbles at the bottom of his 2g hex!!! The bubbles were varying in size, but they were all perfectly round. The only other thing I have (or might have) in there is a remaining ramshorn or 2 that came off a live plant.

The plants I have in the tank is Anacharis and Hornwort.

What does this mean?? Was Tony ubducted and stolen by aliens and replaced with another clone of Tony (I can see why the aliens would travel 1,000,000,000's of miles just to get Tony)?

I have never seen or heard of this before.

The only thing I can think of is they might be ramshorn eggs but your description doesn't sound like them.

Oh yeah it could... but that would be if he didn't have gravel. I have those bubbles but only after a water change... then after the LITTLE teeny bubbles go away Drax roams the tank popping the remaining ones haha

Hi.

It looks like everyone wants a picture. I might be able to have one up before my time to edit the post is up. I'll see what I can do.

Under close observation, it appears that there is a thin layer of "green material" over the gravel. The bubbles seem to be under it.

Stange....brb.

BTW, I haven't seen a ramshorn in over a week in that tank.

Definately *NOT* a bubble nest. Just bubbles....
