+1 to BS. Sounds to me, though, like Tailbiting. Sometimes bettas just lose it, LOL. Sometimes they bite because they're stressed, bored, hyper-aggressive, insecure, ect. ect. Some of them just bite to bite! The only thing to do is provide them with clean water to help healing, and watch to see if you can catch them in the act of biting, or ripping it on something.
