You can ask the seller to add a heat pack and ship express if you want to avoid freezing. Personally I won't be ordering or shipping anything live while it's cold, too many unknowns to risk it, especially with shipping being so expensive.

Although it carries risk to ship anything alive when the weather is cold, many many live plants are shipped with success over winter. A heat pack and overnight shipping is a must. I ordered some orchid plants that shipped on one of the coldest nights of the year, and they are still blooming every year. I hope this helps.
