Nests... and bubbles....and bubble nests

hey guys, i just have a question on bubble nests:

My fish has never.... ever.... ever ......ever made a bubble nest. does it mean he isn't happy? once i thought he sorta made one but it was just a couple of bubbles, not actually a nest and i destroyed it because it was cleaning day.

-My tank is 5 gallons
-no filter but water changes every week
- heated at 77 deg
-fed 2 pellets twice daily with one day fasting per week.
so why hasn't he made a bubble nest?

My first betta has never made a bubble nest, but my new one who I'm keeping in his old tank with pretty much everything identical has been making one every time I clean the tank. I think it might just be a personality thing.

Just because he isn't building bubblenests doesn't mean he isn't happy- I've had some males that would, and some that wouldn't, and they were all kept in the same conditions.

I indubeubly agree its no problem. Some make nests, others don't there only unhabby when you don't rescue them from the store as you leave. ^.^

all of my males, when feeling good, build nests. i've noticed a pattern: my sick males NEVER build them, but my healthy males do. i've started using that to tell when a male's feeling ill, when he's healthy, and when they're feeling better from being sick. my delta, Dante, builds small, strung-out ones that are just some bubbles near the edge of the water, so he builds the smallest. my CT, Zidane, builds these massive, amazing nests that can span his entire tank(and they would, if i didn't have to change his water every three to four days).

I think with Drax it's just a mood thing...

Even after my small Mysterious Infestation (That I think my Water SuperHeating took care of) I hadn't even done the water change yet and as I lower the water with the gravel vac (The water line was slightly above the black rim) I see a THICK hem of bubbles on one side emerge and I just go "Well well someone likes it warm!"
