New beautiful boy & platies - PICS!!!

Hi everyone ...... this is my new betta named Herbie.

I wasnt going to get another boy after Marley, but when I saw him all miserable in a glass jar I just had to save him!

After looking at the sticky on betta types and colours, I think he is a marble?

I also brought 2 platies which I thought would be ok to introduce them to the tank all at once so that he wouldnt be nasty to them, but its not working out so well so far. He is always chasing and flaring at them. Has anyone else had this problem? The 2 platies get along great with each other. Would it improve the situation if I got another platy? Im really attached to them now and I had to look everywhere for a mickey mouse platy. They are so cute!

PS please excuse the yukky plant in the background . That one has been replaced now.

Ooo he has such a pretty color! Is he really that mint green or is the camera capturing it differently? I can never find mint green ones.

Nice boy! sorry to hear about your platies :( Maybe if you get a few more then it may solve your problem? That way the agression is more spread out. However, you should be prepared to rehome either the betta or the platies if you see the platies being stressed and harassed too much.

oh thank you - yes he is that green. though sometimes he looks a little mauve. i think it may depend on the light - or his mood LOL
