Stocking a tank

What are your thoughts on stocking a tank? I feel like now that I have become more experienced I have a different definition of stocking a tank. You have to think "Can I keep the tank clean?", then you have to take account of fish behaviors. If you are overstocking, you need to get a feel for the fish. My sorority is overstocked, but the only fish are cories ad bettas. The behavioral habits of these fish allows you to overstock, if you have a good "Fish" sense.

I think it is fine, if not good to have a overstocked tank with aggressive type fish because it evens out the aggressition, just as long as you keep up with the water changes and the fish are healthy and happy.

I would classify two different types of overstocking. Impossible and Possible overstocking. Impossible is, say, an Oscar in a ten gallon. The fish will always have bad health no matter what. Then there is Possible overstocking. As long as the fish are healthy, and happy and the water is clean it isn't really bad.

Yeah, you also have to take into account the water area those fish inhabit. Since Cories are bottom dwellers and bettas much prefer mid range and high range of the tank, it makes it possible to overstock a little :)

My sorority is overstocked, but every fish has swimming space to spare, so all is good.
