Can I put 2 male platys in with my 6 females in the 16G?

Sadly lost the swordtail male & 2 females, and one male platy I was given...only 2 male platys remain.
I pulled them & they are temporarily in a 5G filtered right now. They look healthy & active, water changes
50% every other day.
Is it Ok to put them in w/ the girls??
Will they be lonely without any female platys or will my girls pick on them?
I have an empty 10G, just no where for it till Feb.

Thanks I believe the others died from stress & not ammonia...I don't think their previous owner took very good care of them.

How big is the tank? If it is a 10g+ than the platys will be okay. Just make sure to have plenty of hiding places and live plants.

CTL - It is a 16G rect, and 6 big wendtiis & 6 Amazon Swords :) Cool, I will acclimate them
tomorrow, unless someone chimes in with different advice.

Just keep an eye on them. Male platys can become agressive to each other without a few females to distract them.

Actually. I have learned from experience that male livebearers actually get along better without any females in the tank.. But that is just my experience...

Agreed. No female to fight over, better off they will be.
