Water Temperature?

I'm just wondering is there an ideal temperature to keep the tank at? I've read it should be kept anywhere from 76-86 degrees F which seems like quite a large margin. I've been keeping mine at 84 degrees F but is this too high? Thanks!

78-80 degree range seems to work well. 84 degrees may be a bit too warm.

IMO/E, 76 is the lowest you should go and 84 is the highest. Anywhere between there is fine :) My bettas temp fluctuates (sp?) between 78 and 82 a day. Hes happier when it's in the 80's. :)

My heater keeps it in the 78-80 degreee range. 84 is the highest. I would go lower, because sometimes you may have to raise the temp if your betta gets sick.

Thanks! I took the temp down 2 degrees today and I'll take it down another 2 tomorrow to get it to 80 without making the change too drastic.
