You'll see I white spot on her belly around the pelvic or ventral fins....I think that's what they are called.

That definitely looks like a male to me. A pretty young one at that. I thought that the first time I looked at his/her picture but I wasn't sure... I've seen some really masculine looking females.

But that bubble nest really makes me think that it's a boy.

Ha! So she might be a he...Guess I'll wait and see...and get this! I put in my mirror and she flared....i think it must be a bouncing boy! Guess I need to think of a new name! lol.....

i had a female that sorta bubble nested. hers wasn't NEARLY as impressive as a males, but it was still a cute little nest. it was done on purpose, too, and not just random bubbles. but, i do agree that your betta looks like a young male.

I'm gonna guess at it being a boy, I just came from a local aquarium store and thought I was looking at females but he said they were male.
They had nice short, straight fins, longer than an average female but way shorter than a male, and cute little round tails. All he called them were short-finned bettas.
Anyway I have a little female crowntail and she spits bubbles along the edges of her home, but nothing like yours.
